Bel Ami To Be Released in in February 2012 ?!

Robert Pattinson is seething with lust in new photos for scandalous “Bel Ami,” a movie about decadent French society, co-starring Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Pattinson plays Georges Duroy, a down-on-his-luck soldier who uses his sex appeal to seduce rich French women in a vicious quest for social status and wealth. It’s based on Guy de Maupassant’s 19th century novel.

The latest photos show Rob with Bel Ami co-stars Ricci (in bed!), Uma Thurman (in his clutches) and Thomas, who plays Madame Walter.

The picture, shot some time ago, was originally thought to be headed for an Oct. 2011 release, just ahead of “Breaking Dawn, Part 1.”

But it now will be released in February 2012, according to the latest reports, just after Breaking Dawn, which hits theaters in November.

This could be the film where Pattinson establishes himself as an actor. It’s his first real adult role.

He exudes lust, desire and ambition as a penniless soldier who’s determined to find his place in French society by seducing the wives of powerful men at the center of Parisian society.

Bel Ami is a Redwave Films production in association with Simon Fuller’s new company XIX, Protagonist Pictures and RaiCinema.

They are no slouches, so they could be waiting for the “Twilight” hype to die down from “Breaking Dawn, Part 1,” and for Rob to block out some time to promote the film.

Thurman recently praised Pattinson’s performance: “He’s incredibly concrete in his presence on the set and obviously very handsome,” she told MTV.

“He’s a very nice person and he’s sensitive,” she added. “He’s present. He’s a really good actor.”
